Flores Fights Back After Nashville Wall Contact

Aug 19

Tuesday night's APEX Cup Series race at Nashville Superspeedway tested the resolve of Misael Flores and the No. 27 ACR Toyota. Flores began the night from 17th and settled into the race before a mistake exiting Turn 2 sent the car loose and into the outside wall. The contact forced the team to make repairs and dropped the No. 27 back to 24th place. With the car repaired, Flores went back to work. Despite the lost track position and the challenge of racing a car that had already sustained damage, the No. 27 methodically charged through the field and recovered six positions to finish 18th. The final result was one position behind the team's starting spot, but the comeback showed the determination of the driver and crew after a difficult setback. The No. 27 completed 142 laps with a 19.3 average position, 16.8 ARP, 67.6 driver rating, and six incidents. More importantly, the team stayed composed, completed the race, and gathered another full night of experience to carry into the next round at Michigan. Congratulations also go to ACR teammate Braxton in the No. 11, who earned another outstanding second-place finish for the second consecutive week. His back-to-back runner-up results continue a strong stretch for the ACR organization and give the entire team plenty to build on moving forward.

Fuel Strategy And Determination Deliver Charlotte Charge

Tuesday night's APEX Cup Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway became a test of patience, fuel management, and persistence for Azalea City Racing. The No. 11 and No. 27 found themselves well behind the field and committed to stretching their fuel in an effort to recover track position. The strategy paid off in a major way for the No. 11, which brought home an outstanding second-place finish. For Misael Flores and the No. 27 Toyota, the night presented a different challenge. The car did not have the pace needed to maintain the same level of fuel saving without losing significant time, forcing Flores to abandon the attempt to reach the end of Stage 2 on fuel. Even with that setback, the No. 27 kept fighting. Flores started 22nd and worked his way forward to finish 12th, gaining 10 positions over 208 laps. Moving that far through the field was an impressive result on a night when outright speed was difficult to find. The finish capped a strong team showing for ACR. Congratulations to the No. 11 on a tremendous runner-up result, and an awesome job by the entire Azalea City Racing group for staying committed through a demanding night at Charlotte.
